Looks like im going to be keeping my trailer for a while now, plan was to get a motor home and sell my 48gn but now it seems that isnt going to happen in the near future.

Im looking to put some sliding and folding glass doors in the back of the trailer just above the dove tail so that we can keep the ac on but have access to the back. Ive seen a few companies do it but they want almost 6000 to do them. Wondering where I could locate doors like the ones ill post below. There has to be a door company or a home depot, lowes, menards etc that could supply what I need to do this.

Has anyone messed with this before?

Get with a commercial glass company that does store fronts, they will be able to build you anything.

A lot of the frame work is mass produced, just cut it up and screw it together, then have the glass made.

Just be careful.
My neighbor has replaced his sliding doors at least 4 times.
I'm not sure if he keeps buying the cheapest junk made??
He and his dad both have had nothing but trouble until they had a professional wood worker come and make custom fit pieces??

The twisting or vibrations kept tearing them up.

Get with a shower door manufacturing company. The extrusions are small enough but yet strong, they accept tempered glass, and a lot of them have glazing vinyl that will accept lighter 1/8 or .200 tempered. They can be attached in an accordion fashion off of one of your steel uprights in the trailer with a continuous piano hinge also a piano hinge between panels. You would have to fab something to lock the first 2 panels to the roof and floor to stop them from moving when opening and closing, and come up with something to hold them against the wall while in motion. Probably 3 22 inch panels and a 22 inch door with a magnetic strike. Should not be too hard.

Yeah, glass sliding doors look great. But they need special care. They get dirty very quickly and fingerprints remain on them. Honestly, this is not the best option for a home with small children. You will often have to wipe them from various stains and traces. One day our little son decided to use glass doors as a road for his cars. We were lucky that he didn't get hurt, but we found 2 large scratches on the doors. They spoiled the view of our living room, so we called the guys from the service that deals with glass scratch repairs. Here projects Archive | Unscratch the Surface Inc. you can find more info about it. I think all glass door owners should have the contact of a good glass restorer.
