I bought a car in Batesville Arkansas and need to ship it to York PA...

Anyone know anyone who drives a big rig car carrier or a suggested company that could pick it up and deliver it for me? Thanks

Expect to pay ~$1.00 per mile.
FWIW - Stay away from brokers. Nothing but horror stories. You don't know who is actually hauling your car. Sometimes one hauler will even transfer your car to another hauler that's going in your direction. I've been told of cases where cars have been dropped at yards or placed in dirty warehouses for days waiting for another hauler to pick them up.
You have much more control and much less risk if the same truck line/ same drivers are hauling your car from pickup to delivery and it's only off-loaded once.

Good luck (y)

$1.70 a mile is more realistic. Maybe a year ago a $1 would get it done.

Paying an owner/operator $1/mile is like going to McDonald's and getting a $2 cheeseburger. It's a "burger" but is it really a burger. $1/mile is going to get you somebody with junky equipment that doesn't care if your car makes it to you in 1 piece. Someone with nice equipment that cares about your car can't do it that cheap. Someone like that is going to need to make ~$2500/week before even starting to pay himself or herself.

There are a ton of open trailer carriers out of Florida. If you do a search you will find a number of them and they will promise you the moon to get you to sign with them. There are also outlets that bid jobs out to truckers. These are the cheaper ways to go. If you want a guaranteed closed transport go with the links provided above.

I just had a non running car brought to me from Nebraska to 19462. I used Plycar. Everybody else was booked. Comunication after it was picked up left something to be desired but car was here 5 days later perfect.

I had to ship a car from California to Nevada last year and found it pretty easy. I found a shipper online that sent my car, a Toyota sedan, for 1000$. I found some useful info on threemovers, such as what kind of ship is used to transport new cars. It helped me understand the process better.

I’ve shipped a couple cars lately. Last fall I moved a ’68 Firebird from the Memphis area to central NJ in an enclosed trailer. Paid more than open, but the car showed up spotless. Driver did a thorough walkaround with photos at pickup, and I could track the truck the whole time. Flexing the pickup window by a day helped a lot. For Batesville to York, I’d go door to door and only use enclosed if the car’s special or low. I booked mine here: A1 Auto Transport: Compare Licensed Car Shipping Companies. They had both options and the tracking/updates kept things stress free.
