Painting a Golf Cart ???

I bought an older Yamaha G2 from a friend and it was horribly painted camouflage. I did a quick rattle can cover-up to get me through the season and I want to restore it this winter and put a fresh (good) paint job on it. I used a single stage paint from Summit racing on the hood of my car and it turned out very well for my first paint attempt. I would like to use the same paint for the cart.

The question I have is, with the golf cart body being flexible, can I add a flex agent to single stage paint ? if so what type / brand should I use ? any help would be great.

how flexible are the panels?
I painted my dirtbike with duplicolor premixed base and clear from napa for 25 bucks a quart 1 qt of black 1 qt of clear with some blue pearl powder thrown in.
the plastics are flexable as hell and the paint is holding up just fine on it

I painted mine and a few others. Even done some graphics and I did not use flex agent. Unless you really twist one by hitting something...you won't need it. And if you hit something that hard the painted is fucked anyway.

Here's the myth of flex agent exposed. And this is from every paint rep from numerous paint manufactures I've used.

All flex agent does is slow down the cure time on the paint that you added it to. That enables the vehicle to be reassembled, man handled if you will, with out the paint cracking. Once fully cured, the paint isn't anymore flexible than if you hadn't used it in the first place.

Also, todays urethane paints are already flexible enough compared to yesterday's lacquers and enamels,...so it doesn't need any flex additive. I paint every day, and haven't used a drop of it in decades.

We used regular automotive base/clear coat...no flex agent...never any problems...

What's the best way to strip a golf cart? I have one with a crappy rattle can paint job I'd like to put a decent paint job on. I'm afraid to use stripper for fear of it softening the body and I'm afraid to use a DA for fear of gouging the body. Should I have it soda blasted?

I used SEM bumper stripper on mine, Like aircraft stripper but not as strong, Comes in a puff can.

2k urethane primer on mine and single stage urethane paint, About 5 years old, Still holding up and looking good.
