Nitrous ring gap

Starting a new build and had a question. On my previous combo I had a different ring package and never sprayed more than 150 on plate. Gapped rings top .020, second .025 on 4.030 bore.
This combo may see double that. Have Hellfire rings and per SP they recommend .007 per inch of bore for first and second.
Should second ring be at same gap or is there still benefits to running second larger gap if at .028 or more on first ring?

The second ring will open up .010” at the gap after the tapered face seats in even .003” for this reason, I don’t get carried away on second ring gap.

.035” top
.025” second.

After they seat in, the top will be tighter than the second, as mentioned.

Don’t forget to open up the gap on the top oil ring rail to the same as the second ring. You need to complete that path of pressure evacuation to the oil ring groove returns.

Really, the simple answer is; the second ring doesn’t need to be opened up because of nitrous and a larger top ring gap. The top ring closes more from the heat and the second/top differential is still correct, second ring opening up on it's own aside from the fact.
