need some inside im missing something .
vehicle is a vw with a 10 gallon cell in frt and id say 8-10' an-12 to hilborn MFI pump at rear and at pump have a drain petcock .
what I was doing at end of year was drain all the methanol ,blow out return line which also would end up blowing out remaining methanol in main supply line .
fill cell with gas ,use petcock and drain what's now in the line , lean out with shut off valve and fire it up and let sit run 3 min .
now reverse comes around and I do the same with the gas and put 2 gallons methanol in tank and let it flush down and clear an-12 line .
I would catch all this fuel and save for flushing later ,when you look at the picture you see th container with flush gas .I shook up the container and poured it into clear container .seams to be separating into 2 layers and appears a tad milky .
I used a syringe and pulled a sample from the top layer then the bottom layer and not what I expected . I squirt the samples on my back rock pit and light with a lighter ,both samples burn like gas ,lots of flame and smoke .I pulled a sample from my fresh methanol jug and did the same , a tad harder to light and burns slow and clean .
what I was going to do was mothball the vehicle with this flushing gas mixture ,I just find the separation of it weird .
any thoughts ?

Think you are just seeing the gas not mixing with the methanol. Try putting a stout mixture of Benol or plain castor oil (from the drugstore) in the methanol and run the motor on that, then drain the fuel system. That will lube the pump seals and orings in the barrel valve. Pull the plugs and spin the motor and call it good. I wouldn't want today's ethanol gas in the fuel system all winter either.
