Depending on what power box is in your car yes.

S10 manual box & 800 series power box (alum top cover w/ 4 bolts) use the same larger diameter pitman shaft.

Earlier 525 manual box & 606 style power box (round top cover w/ snap ring) use the same smaller diameter pitman shaft.

A few years back borgeson did sell the smaller diameter pitman arm and it was around $50.

525 manual box is something like 3-5 lbs lighter than the s10 boxes also.

If I had to pay almost 500 bucks for a box alone plus what ever joints, shaft and pitman arm cost or even the 250 plus for the other option, I would do one thing and ONLY one thing.

CALL TRZ AND BUY A RACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If its a race only vehicle and he has the means to install it or get it installed, yes. But those racks have a big turning radius and are kinda harsh for daily driving, imo, they just dont feel as good as a stock sytem on rough roads. I have g-bodys with both, but thats jmo.

Check out your local Advance store.... Cardone Part # is 27-5000 $175.00 rebuilt. Check with Summit they carry Cardone also and normally have a better price. '84 S-10 manual steering box.

I would also go with the rack if you can swing it, I have changed to manual box, new drag link etc. and still want the weight savings of a rack. Hate spending money twice. For what it's worth, I got my box at Charlotte Auto Fair for $75 bucks.

Bump steer is not the issue. The turning radius is very limited. My car has all TRZ up front control arms, steering arms, and rack. Great products, but intended for track use. I struggle even at the track turning. You have to look way a head and start turning early. Some guys will say it's not a problem. I'm switching to a different rack. Trade offs for having a race car.

If you plan to switch racks, look at Sweet Mfg. I put one on my 85 Monte before I was aware TRZ had a kit, and I must say , it is sweet! It is shorter than the TRZ rack, so you'll have to get even more creative with the steering shaft, but it offers plenty of stroke and can take a beating.

Thanks for reply guys!Found 89 s-10 manual box on carpart.com. for $75.00.Yes its only dragracing now.Dont need trz rack, trust me I looked.Only 12 sec car going toward 11's..NOTICE everyone selling newer box wanted core, ranging from $80.00 at advance autoparts and $150 all other places,I think for the price I got the box its worth the cleaner look and little extra for the 355.
