Tunnel ram set up, i feel like after my burnout i have to clear it out a lot or it will stall. I have to rev it as I'm coming to a stop and maybe one or two revs after a full stop, then its fine and i can back up and stage. Anyone else ever come across this? My other car did the same thing but not as bad as this one, thought about possibly running vent tubes across the vents but cant imagine that's what's doing it as they're sideways

Just so you know I failed tech last year for no vent tubes.

I run alcohol and take the tubes off and put them in the tray when I spray down the carbs.
When we went up for tech I forgot to put them on, he said vent tubes are now mandatory in IHRA???

He made me walk back to my trailer & get them, and wouldn't believe me I use them.

Thanks!

For Chevyman424, believe it or not I’ve seen it help some cars by adding the vent crossover tubes. My friend runs S/ST and was having some issues. I robbed the one off my dragster and installed it and the problem went away. I build mine from two spark plug boots and 3/8 stainless tubing with holes drilled in the top of the tube. I usually bend the tube first to clear the hold down boss in the center of the carb. Be sure and deburr all the holes.

Loading after a burnout is normal because you’re going from all the rpm, to idle in an instant and physics keeps the fuel moving for that brief period.

I’ve personally never seen tubes on the vents change anything but doesn’t mean there aren’t cases that could be an issue.
