Looking for your input on the lightest 400 hp engine that a normal man can afford.
Need something that can make 150 passes without problems.
Will have a glide with a brake.
I can make my own adaptors.
Post weights if you can.
Thinking Subaru?

won't make it 15 passes let alone 150.

LS/LQ or SBF. sorry, you're going to need to trade reliability for a little bit of weight on your budget. sure, you could do like some honda b18 or some shit with a refrigerator sized turbo on it, but you asked for it to last and cost normal.

Ls1 or ls2 with a cam. 400-430lbs will make easy 400hp. Looks like your wanting real light.. nevermind
Yes trying to get lighter than that.
Loved my LS, but looking for something different.

You have a slight problem...

Light as in lighter than any domestic small block. But to use with a powerglide.

In what car is this combo gonna be in?

2JZ-GTE can pair up neatly with a glide but its fairly heavy.

Toyotas 3S-GTE, Mitsus 4g63, Rotarys like 13b-20b will surpass the horsepower rating, but i havent seen one yet paired to a glide. mainly im guessing because of torque or drivetrain loss issues.

GM Ecotec LNF engine. 260 HP stock and RWD in Solstice GXP and Sky Redline. Easy to mod to 400 Hp. Im sure a glide can be made to work behind it

turbo honda b series, but for that kind of power im not sure it can be cheap. 2.3l turbo ford. once again for the power im not sure it will be cheap
