Consider anodizing it?

 

Depends on the powdercoat you want to use. For your application I would use textured black, as it is virtually indestructible. I use it on valve covers, timing cover, brake calipers etc. It is impervious to fuel and even brake cleaner. It is also called wrinkle black. Here is what the finish looks like.

Rodent, your doing it wrong. E85 belongs in the engine. Tighten up man.

 

Splashed it on powder coated valve covers a lot and never seen it try to come off

 

My tank is satin black PC'd. C16 will pull the sheen off of it. Still fully black, but if you look close, you can see the fuel spill area.

 

Worked for a Powder Coating Mfg. about 18years ago, so I'm sure "some things" have changed.
BUT, we use to make PC for GM and Ford, one was intake manifold silver. I would think it was fuel resistant, as it was fine on my Vic Jr

Not all PC is fuel/chemical resistant, so I would talk it over with who you plan to use to have it done for what options.

I will say, it is some really impressive stuff.
