Hey guys, trying to find out if anyone has compared and tested single 4bbl intakes to suit the Brodix sr20 / BMX heads. Looking to build a 632 pump gas and aiming for around 1000-1050HP with around 11.6 - 12.0 comp, street type solid roller around 278 /290 @ .050", 114 LS and around .780" at the valve. Was looking at the ED S/Victor II or the Brodix 2021. Any thoughts and reasons please.

Clue people in on what you are doing, like how much hp you are looking to make, how many rpm you want to turn, if you are going to be on the bottle, what you will be using the engine for, car, truck, boat, burnout, drifting, ect. The Brodix guy said it was good for 20 hp over other manifolds at higher rpm. And if you can't get any guidance on the bullet you might think about contacting the other guy as he might be able to guide you.

Engine Masters did a BBC intake manifold test with a 598.

Text on the site.
This time on Engine Masters presented by AMSOIL, David Freiburger, Steve Dulcich, and Steve Brule´, go on the hunt for the best manifold to make big horsepower numbers on a big-inch, big-block Chevrolet. These aren't manifolds for any boring, old 454 or even a 496. We're talking 598 cubes of big-block, and we're throwing four different single-plane, single 4bbl manifolds at it from Dart, Pro-Filer, Brodix, and Edelbrock to see how the difference in their runner walls and plenum shapes make or cost power.

Blueprint Short Block, Dart Pro 1 365 heads. Cam is a Crane 276/282, 10.75 compression and pump gas. They measured cyl/cyl distribution as well as total airflow. Brodix intake is the one with the built in turtle on the bottom of the plenum.

FOLLOWING. I too am doing a 632 pump gas 20 deg deal and hoping for 1200Hp? Will it happen, who really knows. More port work and 2x4 Profilier tunnel ram, I think it should.

I would rework the Edelbrock intake or get ahold of Chris U to see what happened with his designed SR20 intake. That one is probably the most powerful, but also being a small run semi-custom, probably a good amount of $$$.

Seems that Brodix intake on the Engine Masters test blew the others away big time. Maybe the SV632 was way big for the application. What brodix intake was it? Anyone familiar with the brodix 2100 as that seems large and an open large plenum by the looks of it. By the way did anyone else watch the PRI Brodix ad above and notice how fuked up brodix drilled the intake flange bolt hole? Man they should of seen that before publishing that add.

The intake is designed for 598+ cu in. This will be on a 498 with SR20 heads pushing 10,000 RPM.

Here are some quick measurements before port work...
