I have a real solid offer on my C10 from a guy in Cali. been talking to him back and forth. he seems legit. he's looking for an enclosed transport company to move it for him. Every car i have sold to out of state buyers they drove the whole way here to get it. This would be a first for me. I am hesitant on how payment will work. I assume the transport driver could bring me a check in exchange for the title but how do you trust that. Is the driver going to wait for me to run to the bank and cash it before he loads the car? i doubt it. I also doubt the buyer would wire transfer the whole amount before he even sends the transport. Not really sure how this would work out.

I do a bank to bank transfer. He on his end at his bank and you at your bank . You have to have a I.D . Have your bank call his bank and they do some number trading. I wait at the bank ,usually about 1/2 hour and my bank gives me an account printout on my account with The new amount . I usually go get a box of Donuts for the bank girls. It has always worked great for me.

It's impossible to have too much goodwill, take care of the people that you want to take care of you!!!

Bank to bank transfer is the standard. It’s a big risk for the buyer, but that’s the price you pay for not willing to go see/get it in person. Checks take multiple weeks to definitively clear (not just to where the funds show up, but where they can’t be taken back later due to fraud), so I won’t take a personal check for anything whatsoever. As far as bank-issued cashier’s checks, I wouldn’t take one without being in the bank myself and watching the teller make it out after they confirm funds from the buyer. Cashier’s checks are easily faked just the same as personal checks.

Bank to bank transfer is the modern standard.

I have bought and sold a bunch over the years. We always wire transfer then overnight the title/paperwork. Then transport is on the buyer. I have always done videos and lots of pictures for me or a buyer. If you aren't willing to go to the vehicle then you are willing to accept some risk. I have had a few show up that weren't represented a 100%. But I always make sure that It is priced accordingly with the risk factor.

This is how I have sold cars. But I will work with the buyer and the transport company to see it gets delivered. No reason not to.
