Yea it runs pretty hot. Non of the awesome cooling effects of methanol.

 

Thanks guys, I thought I had heard some guys saying it ran a lot cooler. On to plan B.....

 

E85 will run almost as cool as methanol. If you aren't running cooler, it might be too lean. I switched from running almost 200 when I ran race gas and now on e85, I have a hard time getting up to 170 to stage. Usually pull in water box at 160, stage at 170, 180 on top end, and back down to around 160 when I get back to the trailer. And it's ready for another pass after maybe 5 minutes. Hardly ever run the fan, and usually never run the water pump in the staging lanes.

I changed to a 170° Tstat , same reason as above.

And X3 for a buddy that run a roots 8-71 SBC. He picked up a full second on E85 vs C16 and you can touch the blower, it's cold.
On C16 if you touched the blower you got burned.

Yep! After each run, my intake is ice cold, but the valve covers will burn your ass! LOL

 

I drive my car on the street. I've driven the car with the fans off trying to get heat in the engine. When at the track I don't run my fans .

My buddies car is also the same.

 

If someone says it doesn't run cooler they are way to lean and not taking advantage of the fuel! My coolant fan could have fallen off and it wouldn't have bothered me.

 

good info what about a turbo street car would seem to be the hot ticket.iam fighting a hot running turbo street car thinking of converting to e85 for the help in the cooling of it.
