3000lb throttle stop bracket car... I've noticed a real inconsistency in the 60' times where I will lose or gain up to .010 - .020 at different times of the day. Mostly have a best in the cold of the morning pass and lose numbers as the day and track gets hotter. .
I've studied the weather data looking to see if humidity or baro or water grains is the cause and to be honest... there is no obvious explanation based on the changing weather... So in the process of trying to get to the point of being consistant or at least being able to predict that 60' change, I've asked myself a question about tire pressue.
Is it possible I have too much air in my 33-14.50-15 tubeless tires? For some reason, we've settled on running the tires at 9.5lbs every pass, but after watching and talking with other racers, they run their air pressure down as low as 5.0lbs depending on weight and horsepower.
Is it possible that 9.5lbs for a 1000HP 8.50/155 mph is too much and there is a small amount of tire slippage at the hit that is throwing the 60' times off?
