BTW, here is a bit more info about the television and live streaming plans. It sounds like we'll have multiple ways to watch coverage, and that includes free!

IHRA and Official Broadcast Partner SPEED SPORT 1 Announce Production and Broadcast Plans | IHRA

I'll be looking forward to this! Not sure if the streaming will start with mid-week Pro-Am stuff or only Friday-Saturday for the pro show, but I look forward to hanging out and watching some IHRA racing either way.

Thanks again, I have a double points event. So I won't have time to do anything.
Another attempt to run an event with new combination, I'll be running around like a nut!!!!

Columbus appears to be developing into a good event, I am sure there will be some hiccups along the way, I just hope all the racers get paid the advertised amounts of money regardless of the event success

On the GBR podcast I attached in a previous post, Doug Foley Jr. was the guest and he said all purses are guaranteed no matter what.

Someone posted this guy is a billionaire and has already put 300 million in advance to make damn sure IHRA does not fail???

Or is willing to spend 300 million.
I don’t remember his exact phrasing.

Did they scale back from 10 Nat'l events to 5 or am I missing something?
I believe they are counting these 5 race double events as 10 total events. In essence, there is only one pro show per event. But they get to squeeze in 2 Pro-Am events at each stop on the schedule.

They got such a late start that doing a legit 10 national events just wasn't going to be possible this year. But I suspect they'll probably shoot for a 10 event schedule for next year, if the series is well received. With full fields already in both of the fuel classes, it is certainly looking good so far! Hopefully we see strong fields in pro stock, pro mod and all the sportsman categories too.

I think it is awesome that someone who loves drag racing and has the financial resources to do it is willing to put up his own money to get things rolling right away. Hopefully by next season, a series sponsor and event title sponsors will emerge. Even a billionaire can get overextended pretty easily these days. But again, so far, so good. It looks like we are seeing solid racer participation and fan interest. Getting series and event sponsors should be very doable, especially by next year.

I'm hoping some non-IHRA owned tracks will get races also!!!

Martin, Cordova, and US 41 are old IHRA national event tracks.
Cordova & US 41 have new owners that have spent a lot of dough to upgrade the facilities.
It would be nice to see them rewarded for their investment & hard work!!!!

Cordova just installed new pit roads that were really needed,
and US 41 has done amazing work since that POS thief denny was kicked to the curb!!!
Everyone knows how nice Martin is. Except the giant cracks in the pits :eek::eek:
Any of them could handle an event like this with the current ownership!!!

I bet we see more tracks acquired by IHRA, or at least brought under IHRA sanction between now and next season. In addition to the ones you named, I'd say Maryland International and Memphis may re-enter the discussion. They also need more tracks and events down south, so tracks like Darlington and Bradenton, Orlando Speed World, Montgomery Motorsports Park, SGMP or maybe even a revitalized Palm Beach may get looked into. I also would expect IHRA to look a little farther west too, with perhaps an event at Xtreme Raceway Park in Texas. Flying H Dragstrip near Kansas City, MO is also a very nice new track. I know they are currently NHRA, but that can change quickly, especially with the offer of a national event. I could also see IHRA try to flip Tulsa back to being an IHRA track. Then there is the whole WDRA thing. I still look for IHRA to ultimately gobble them up between now and next season. That would immediately net them a whole bunch of other tracks for potential Pro-Am and Nitro Jam events. Needless to say, I think they'll find the facilities for more events by next year, one way or another.

Someone already posted the wdra is done, they have already been bought
and they are letting the bracket racers finish the season and it will be eliminated next winter???

I don't remember if it was some goof or an actual name we all know, it's been a while since it was posted.

Those guys had no business doing what they did, throwing a hissy fit like that instead of working with Larry to save our sport.
If it's true, I hope they choke on the profit they made!!!!

On the Going Bracket Racing Podcast, Foley said Josh Peake has been helping him alot. I'm pretty sure he is partial owner or a higher up of some sort with WDRA. So I'd say WDRA has been sold if one of their main guys is working directly with IHRA.

BTW, I think Speed Sport 1 is only going to be covering the stuff on Saturday from what I've gathered. I guess I'll check for IHRA TV on YT for everything else. Hopefully they will stream everything, including the Pro-Am events.

OH YEA, has anyone heard of any P/S or MMPS cars that are coming for sure???

Any bets on Larry Morgan jumping in a car :p:p:p

.
We will be going. 12 for sure MMPS cars.

OK, looks like everything prior to Saturday eliminations will be on Speed Sport 2. I had totally forgot they had a 2nd channel. Here is a link to the stream. They go live again at 1:00 PM EDT.

Watch Live! | IHRA Outlaw Nitro Series - Pro Am Time Trials and Qualifying - Race 1 | National Trail Raceway | July 9th, 2025

Seems the car counts for the 1st Pro-Am are a bit disappointing, but maybe that is to be expected for a mid-week event. Hopefully sportsman racer participation will pick up for the Friday/Saturday Pro-Am.

I'm too slow, I don't think I could come even close to making the field at Milan,
but I don't have any help that could go during the week.
I bet it will be quick.

My main guy still works.
