IHRA NITRO JAM DRAG RACING SERIES PLANS TEN RACES IN 2025

There’s already an expansion before they’ve even hit the track for the first event.

The rejuvenated International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) announced a significant expansion of the Nitro Jam Drag Racing Series during halftime of Saturday’s NFL game featuring the Cincinnati Bengals and Denver Broncos. The series will return with a 10-race schedule in 2025, marking the first events in a decade. Previous announcements had indicated the series would do a soft opening in 2025 with a three-race schedule.

That appears to be a thing of the past as IHRA has revealed fans can expect to see several iconic classes, including Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Mod, and Mountain Motor Pro Stock at all 2025 Nitro Jam events. Additional professional classes at select events will include 500-inch Pro Stock, Nitro Harley, Top Fuel Motorcycle, and Pro Stock Motorcycle.

A detailed breakdown of class locations will be included in the upcoming schedule release. Sportsman classes featured at every IHRA Nitro Jam event in 2025 will include Top Sportsman, Top Dragster, Quick Rod, Super Rod, Hot Rod, Super Stock, and Stock.

IHRA content will be broadcast on Speed Sport 1, reaching over 200 million consumers on mainstream platforms. It will also be available to 300 million users on major mobile platforms and streaming services at www.speedsport1.com.

“This is another incredible step in the #IHRAReturnToGlory,” IHRA President Kenny Nowling said. “Thanks to our new parent company, Cuttell Motorsports LLC as well as several current IHRA marketing partners and those who will be announced in the coming months, we will be taking the IHRA to unprecedented heights.”

Good, really good! More realistic competition to the NHRA can only make the sport better. I wish the IHRA great success.

Hope it works.
Seems very similar to Evan Knoll to me but wishing for the best.
Good money in conveyor belts evidently.
If you are going to do it, go big!

At least this is real money earned, not funny money stolen from the tax payers.
If he's cooking the books, it won't be stolen from us!!!!

The “new” IHRA has Kenny Knowling as their president now. For those that don’t remember, he is the guy that was in charge of the ADRL when they weren’t able to and still haven’t paid several racers. You don’t have to look very far to see there are thousands of dollars still owed, and a lot of racers who are still soured to the situation.

We remember and have no clue why Larry would be involved with someone like that???
It made no sense then, and it makes no sense why they are keeping him on now??

I'm hoping it doesn't become an issue.
The new owner is obviously a business genius and will not allow kenny to screw us!!!

Like I keep saying, all of this has changed in the blink of an eye.
Give it time and there could be an entire new team in there before we know it!!!:cool::cool:

It went from a new sponsor, to a new pay schedule, to a new series,
to a new 10 race schedule before we even caught our breath.

I'm just hoping it's not a dream, and they come close enough on non points weeks I can do both!!!

I miss IHRA when it was firing on all cylinders - good tracks, better contingency program than what NHRA was offering, better value with the manufacturers in regards to midway access - areas that are important for the racers, the vendors, and those interested in participating and learning about drag racing and less signing up for Army recruitment or getting an energy drink t-shirt. But that has been nearly two decades since those good times.

So they bought digital signage at the Bengals stadium - lauded as a partnership worthy of a press release - I see nothing about it anywhere in the Bengals world. IHRA has been debated and lamented back and forth since the Bader days. IHRA needs to really identify who their customers are - racers, spectators, both? And every energy should be laser focused on serving those customers.

(There was some dust this morning on Facebook about Memphis being bought by IHRA and opening back up. What recipe for success will ever bring it back to the prosperous days when it called Memphis Motorsports Park?)

There's three rumors floating around why the press conference was canceled???

They added another huge sponsor and they wanted to be included.
They added more tracks that wanted to be included.
The Memphis thing.

All I know is if some dude wants to spend MILLIONS of his dollars trying to save the IHRA
we should support him the best we can or shut the hell up with the whining and negative bitching and ignore him.

Amen to that!

He was there, he didn't put him anywhere and as I posted, it's none of our business,
but I'm hoping he is working on putting his own team in place and getting rid of people he doesn't trust completely!!!

I'm supporting anyone that puts his money where his mouth is.
If he's using kenny for his knowledge & experience temporarily until he gets his feet wet.
That's his business. He's obviously much more successful than 99% of us.
I can't do it, I'm not a big second chance guy.
If you are a POS THIEF, you are done!!!

What does being a whining, negative crybaby get us!!!
I chose to be positive and show the guy support, just like I showed Larry when so many others jumped to wdra.

I apologize for stating fact you don’t like(also sarcasm), but this is Kenny’s 3rd organization and he’s very unapologetic about the issues he had with the other 2. If you want to continue to support him, this would literally be his 3rd strike (and I do actually mean literally). I don’t understand why people continue to trust and use him with the way he’s treated racers in the past.

What are you reading.
How many different ways do I have to say I'm supporting Darryl and I hope kenny is gone sooner than latter???

I've said the exact same thing about connoly being a POS cheater.
I've said the exact same thing about geese being a POS thief.
I've said the exact same thing about simpson being a POS conman.
I've said the same thing about knoll being a POS criminal.

One strike you are out.

So they have to find 10 tracks that can hold a national event.
Then they have to find dates on an off weekend from nhra.
Then they have to be semi close to the nhra event so the teams are in the general area.
Then they need to find the personnel to run national events for tech & race operations.
Then they have to buy all the new equipment to run national events, spares and transportation.
Then they have to train all these new people.

I think they are doing just fine so far.
The guy would not have jumped from 3 events to 10 if he wasn't confident it was do able!!!

The issue I see is they shouldn't have promised updates so often and so soon.
Post results as they occur and don't worry about the POS crybaby's posting idiotic demands already!!!

I want everything set as quick as possible also.
I have 3 cars & a motorcycle to set up a schedule for, but this is worth waiting for.

I would think the "Fuel " classes would be part-time fuelers. The rules may not be the same as nhra in IHRA. I think the Fuel pumps and mags were smaller when IHRA had T/F.
If they have the same rule set, it would be easier to draw Nhra cars but that puts a lot on the full time Nhra team. Do you go to sponsors and ask for more money?

I'll agree that severing ties with Knowling is a move in the right direction. His past is hard to forget for many and rightfully so.

??????

He probably did, but he deserves it so don’t give a damn.
It was a stupid idea for Larry hiring him.

I don’t believe a word from wdra.
Why would irg spend all that money to ruin their investment.

I personally know previous IHRA officials and they blame bad management for the collapse.
IRG wanted profits and a strong future.
Why would they want it worthless.

.
If you watch the beginning of the episode they go in-depth and explain why IRG would want to get rid of IHRA.
