What is the general consensus for the orientation of the weld in pipe nipple in the header collector on an evac system, should exhaust flow be parallel or perpendicular. I see installations either way, which is better with open headers? Does one way tend to draw better than the other???
And how critical is the location. My headers only have about 2" of collector past the 4 - 1 merge point. Behind that I have a 16" collector bolted on. It would be so much easier on my car to have the evac nipple welded on the collector, about 1" behind the flange, which would be approx 3" past the 4-1 merge point. Anyone see a problem??

Thanks.

I cut a small notch in the tube like a whistle. Ever used a hose with a notch cut in it and blow thru the notch with compressed air to start a siphon? The exhaust goes in the small notch and out the end of the pipe creating a siphon.
Look at moroso's instructions. I just used iron pipe nipples and cut them to length.
