just got this and really want add a compensator/flash suppressor and forward mount grip and the fixed mag /detachable mag and labeled assault weapons wording is kinda looking like a gray area . I know an have heard that if you've got a bullet button your weapon can have these add ons as it's not labeled an assault rifle because of the fixed mag

i looked at the Calgun.net website flowcharts and my carbine according it's size and bullet button feature shows it is not classified as an assault weapon . Now last night while picking up my carbine at Turners outdoors i was told i can't add the items listed as this is considered an assault weapon WTF!!! and during the firearms purchase checklist it had this statement were i had to initial

addition of parts such as pistol grips, flash hiders, forward pistol grips, folding stocks, thumbhole stocks or other items defined by Calif law as being a feature or characteristics of an assault weapon

just want to make sure before going to the range with a forward grip and flash suppressor/compensator and not getting in trouble with the law for having an illegal weapon

here's my 9mm Carbine and it has 3/4" weaver rails all over it !!:supz:

Honestly, I can't help ya. But it sounds to me like ca laws are way more screwed up than I thought. I have always known they suck, but I didn't know they were this bad. Grips, flash hiders, detachable mags, flipy thingys, and doo hickeys, and the quanity of such determine what "class" (for lack of a better word) a gun goes in is a joke.

If I had my choice I would move 4-600 miles east and buy anything your heart desires. My "assult rifles" have 17 grips, 38 doo hickeys and 3 flash hiders, mufflers, and "high capacity expanded ammunition magazine clips" and the only people who look down on my mall ninja "assult rifle" are the 450 pound "operators"

it definitely has a bullet button just don't want any hassle from law enforcement like wanting me to demonstrate that the bullet button functions properly
