Both lanes water boxes? Same rpm during burn out?

 

Line lock leaking out in water box on one side. Could be caliper to.

 

Not enough water in the box and/or low wheel speed during the burnout can make one tire grab.

 

When in the water box and the pull to one side is small. If you hold the steering wheel straight it will help hold the car straight. But of course when the pull is greater you have to compensate. I see some guys crank on the wheel as the rear moves to the side just an inch or two and it makes the situation worse.

 

Check center to center with front wheels to make sure rear diff did not move.It use to happen to me but I have independent rear suspension,I have adjustable sway bar end links and made the side it was going to longer if I remember and the car straightened out.

 

Have you checked each tire's roll out?

 

Paint the car a nice color, should fix issue.

 

As was said, make sure something isnt off with the rear. Check it for squareness. Do you run a lot of preload? Rear weight will make them kick one way or the other too although that really shouldn't change all of a sudden unless something broke.

 

Quite often when it starts up after being fine . Spring went away, shock leaking or adjuster not working. Heim that's tight. Put some one in driver seat and get under it and see if every bar is free. Diagonal also

 

The car has a ladder bar/coilover spring suspension. Thanks for the suggestions. I have not checked the corner weights in a while.

The color of the car was yellow when I bought it in 2011. I intended to repaint it, but the color grew on me as I weighed the cost. LOL.

 

Since the car launches and drive straight during the run I would say the car is fine but you can try rotating the slicks side to side, certainly wont hurt. Normally not enough water, low wheel speed or crown in the track can cause a car to turn during the burn out

 

Lot's of tracks end up with a couple of troughs worn in the surface after years of burnouts in the same place. If you don't already, pull through the water and start the burnout on the edge of the water. If the car is square and level, it should go straight.

 

Same track? Some tracks if the car kicks left in the burnout I pull into the box a little further left and it stays straight. Must be slite depression in the concrete. If same track as normal then obviously not the issue.
