I run a 10.5 W now and looking to go non W mickey Thompsons and run some small tire stuff because everyone bitches about big tires (33x10.5-15 W),what is the largest tire size will fit on my wheel in a non W ??
For a 10.5" tire, "non-W", I would not go any wider than a 12" rim without beadlocks. On the 14" rim, even with "W" tires, I would suggest doubling the amount of screws you have.
Hi Jason,
My tyre knowledge ranges from little to zero
What is a "non-W" ?
I am also looking for a radial tyre for 15x 14 with a Beadlock rim. If I understood the above posts, could I fit Mickey Thompson P315/60R 15 (30" x 13.5" x 15")
By spreading the tyre over a rim wider than the 8.5"- 11.0", would I lose much in the height. Car is street legal, but built more for the track, it's also an automatic, twin turbo.
A "non-W" tire just refers to the size designation and the tread width. "W" tire have extra tread width over the designation on the sidewall. This practice started in Super Stock and evolved into "10.5" racing.
Yes, you can run our P315/60R15 ET Street Radial on a 14" wide beadlock, but we recommend this for racing only. You will not lose any height as they are steel belted radials.
There are some running the P315/60R15 on 14" wide beadlocks (I have also heard some 15"?). Non beadlocks I have seen 12" wide.
Thanks,
Jason Moulton
