The lovely Jana Thompson was hurt this past weekend at a race at Sacramento. I didn't realize she also ran a 9 second Nova along with being about he hottest nitro back up babe ever. Pains me to read this.... Our family, of Jana Thompson would like to express our sincere appreciation for the overwhelming outpouring of concern, Love & Prayers, and kind expression of support from so many in our racing friends/family. On Saturday evening 9/18/21 Jana was in a terrible accident at the Sacramento Raceway track. Jana is in serious condition in ICU, with multiple broken bones in her hips, pelvis and both legs. She was in surgery thru out Sat night into Sunday morning. She will have additional surgeries and a long road with rehab. Pastor Matt Miller has been great comfort for us in Prayer, and we ask that all of you continue in praying for our Jana. Sincerely, Kim, Casey Treur & Brad Thompson

Definitely sucks. Her car appears to be very nice and well built, but nothing good will ever come from a crash. I believe she ran C-Gas which puts her at 140 mph or so in the 1/4. Her injuries seem extreme if she was strapped in tight into a well built car, but I guess anything and everything can go wrong. I wish her a full and speedy recovery.

From someone's FB post on Oct 14...

"Jana Thompson is home from the hospital and on the mend from her accident. I reached out tonight, to try to put a little smile on her face.... She still has a long recovery facing her. Let her know we are thinking of her, and sending good thoughts".

This is what i was told...... don't know how valid this info is........

I talked to a guy at the CHHR, he said she was new to driving a race car (or at least a C/Gas car). Her run was right after the Jet Cars ran.... she got loose and she hit the brakes, the car shot across the track and over the guard rail.

Hope she gets better quick, bad deal. I can't think of the ladies name but she ran a jet car at an event I was attending. I ran right behind her and there was nothing on the track. I'd had trouble behing other jet cars so I went and talked to her, she said there was no reason to coat the track in fuel, it was all in the tuning.
