My neighbor just gave me one of these. Made in the 1990s or early 2000s, I think. It runs and gets cold but it doesn't shut off and will freeze. I saw the temp get to 18 degrees F. It's clean underneath, not dirty with lint and dust, because I know that can sometimes cause problems. Sounds like a thermostat or a timer?

I had a mini fridge do the same thing. It's the thermostat.
