I saw a recent NHRA notice that a couple of Top Dragster racers were DQ'd because they went quicker than 6.0. I looked it up and I found out its actually a thing. Wow.

Can someone please enlighten me as to the reasoning? Why it isn't treated as a simple breakout?

They are trying to save ourselves from ourselves.

Men are too damn stupid.
Even if we pay the extra for the P/M sticker, they are claiming it's a money saving rule.

The guys I bought my Pro-Charger from were running P/M & T/S with the same car, so they were legal to run 5.60's.
They got booted 2-3 times when they were trying to dial in the new Hemi for 6.10's and missed.
Even with the fully legal sticker, they were still kicked out of the event.

I know my car is 5 second legal, but I get the 6 second sticker because it's cheaper.
I'm sure many do the same thing that don't have enough HP to worry about breaking out.

That rule has been is place for 6 years now for both TD and TS.
You can show up with a fully legal TAD and have a TAD license,
if you enter TD which has a 6.10 floor and go under 6.00 you will get the boot

That's what I was saying, but if you check, it doesn't say that anymore.

Now it says must dial slower than 6.10, no mention of runs not counting or driver being DQ'd from event???

Maybe I looked at the wrong page, I used my online members handbook.
