looking for advise from forum members that have built s10 drag trucks . When you built your truck where were the best area's to stick money into early on in the build to make the best bang for the buck performance gains? currently i have a 2001 short box with a aluminum headed 350 , turbo 400 trans with 3200rpm stall and ford 8.8 rear end . Other things that have been done is front shocks switched to 3 way adjustable's , stripped as much weight as i could find from under hood including inner fender well's , abs , factory fuse box, heater box ect . The interior has been stripped to bare minimum fuel cell mounted in bed behind rear axle as well as battery relocated to right rear of bed. With that being said how would you continue this build to make it perform to its full potential ? i am on the fence between ordering caltrac's to help it hook up better or just going to a 4 link.

With all the small tire and stock suspension racing going on all over this country..... I would never take a factory Leaf Spring vehicle and change it to something else.

Split mono-leafs with sliders on the rear and Cal Track or Smith Race Craft Assassin bars. Real good shocks are not a necessity at your relatively low power level but they don't hurt and give you real good suspension that you can adjust and grow into without having to upgrade again for a long time..... I would highly recommend a set of Viking DAs.

Back Half Four Link Big Tire. Innovative Racecraft Weld in K Member up Front. Just keep taking weight off the nose and keep moving everything you can to the back. Move motor back as far as you can. There is a ton of metal in the fenders, doors, cab, and floor on these trucks.
