Currently my pistons are .010" in the hole. Since I have the motor torn down for a blown up lifter should I go zero deck or .010" out the hole? Max 300 plate shot.

just enough to clean it up. there are other factors like quinch, head gasket thickness,P-V clearance,Rods ect..

63cc combustion chambers, -16cc Probe 4.030" pistons, .053" compressed LS9 head gaskets. I think 6.125" rods. I'll have to double check once its torn down.

steel rods? i would't take much off the deck. IMO with it being a nitrous combo. just clean it .005 if possible. keep as much material on the deck surface as possible. you can take it away, but not really put it back

You don't want the pistons "hanging out of the hole" in a nitrous motor. If the deck does not need cut, don't touch it.

Don't know if they hang out of the bore, but they only have .005 to cut to get it to Zero.

Yup. I don't have factory rods and pistons though.

Leave the deck if it doesn't need to be touched. 10 down is good.

we just went down in the hole with my new pistons from .010 in the hole to .020.with my 598 with 6.60 rods.adding a 2nd kit so it should help make it more nitrous friendly. the old pistons had a 1.270 comp height so there was still plenty of room for a good ring stack with the new piston now @ 1.260.

I don't have much experience, but I would have the piston at the top of the deck.
