I will allow the C460 head in an N/A application just as we allow the Big Chief in an N/A application.

Right now Mike Barry runs a 565 Big Chief combo and has been consistant 5.50's and may even dipped into the 5.40's when the air is really good. He was overweight with his combo and is coming out this year at 3050 or so and should be competitive. Looking forward to having some more N/A guys out running with us.

I gave a lot of thought on this one myself, I could be 2900 lbs with 9.8 deck, build a 582 get maybe 1100 hp out of it BUT no... Vinny Budano says it aint gonna get done(to be competitive 4.9-5.0) SO we will be loading single-gun on a BBC/conv. head and let it eat!!!!!
Also don't for get NA gets to run a 28-10.5, really off tracks could benifiet you on a slick even if you are down on power going in. Again I looked at this closely you can go either way, thats why John's rules are so good, all combo's can get'er done.......

IMO,...if the right combination is built with either BB or SB it will run at the top...The car needs to be at minimum weight and 60' sub 1.20.
Robbie blankenship just raced at bradenton with his 420" HS engine and went 5.20's.
I have also been 5 teens while being 75lb over min weight,...something being worked on right now. :)

BES gets around 1175hp out of a 9.8 deck conventional headed BBC on c-25 in NMCA pro stock trim. There is no reason he couldn't get 1225-1250hp with a 588" motor, Q-16 and a big carb. I eould guess around 1300hp with big chiefs. Now getting the car to work would be another story. I have been 1.216, 5.302 at 3250lbs with my 525 Pontiac.

Glad to see there is some buzz in the N/A arena for the class, maybe we got the rules pretty close then!

BES knows what to do...

They took my 525 that i wanted to build... nothing special.. it was just a Chevy Bow tie head, on VP NO2 fuel, with a 1050 carb...

he and i guess it would make 750-800... He made 951 with it... If i changed to a better head.. im sure i can make more.. but no need to for what i was trying to do!

I appreciate the replies. What is the best ET for the class and best MPH? I think that N/A BBC might not be as competitive as I thought.

The 5.50's were at 3400lbs and a Hoosier 275.

John needs a few more of the N/A cars to compete, once he is able to see what there made of, he will adjust the wieghts accordingly.
