Will this save Outlaw 10.5?
Texas King of the Hill came up with a new set of rule last night to try and increase car counts at the events.
I call it the GMAC rules, it is no secret that Grant has found the combination that has put him so far ahead of the competition that no one else wants to play in the sand box.
So they voted and here is what is happening and in effect at the next race.
Nitrous cars will get a 100 lb weight break (2900 lbs)
Turbo cars add 100 lbs (3100 lbs)
Maximum size turbo will be an 88 MM
Will ORSCA follow suit? It seems that the two organizations have always shared rules so everyone would be legal.

However, do not punish the turbo cars.
The point I'm trying to make is what did it cost him to get to this point? Can and are others willing to do the testing to get to the same place?Oh, so if mobley doesnt share his secrets we need rule changes? Thats stupid. The point is, mobley just proved the nitrous combos can run with the turbo cars.

Nothing is free in this game.. the team with the most money/resources normally wins... and eventually it will go the way Pro Street did. A booked in show for the few who can run the numbers.
Drag radial is not far behind... those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
One reason the ADRL is attracting racers from other organizations is because the cost to be competitive is cheaper than building a competitive car with stock frame rails and firewall.
You can buy a quality ex pro mod or pro stock roller for 40 to 50 grand., put your motor & trans in and race for almost 10 grand to win with all of the contingency money.
I know Outlaw 10.5 racers that have spent over 250 grand on their cars and they will never get close to getting that money back.
And if you ever go to an ADRL race you will see it really is the big time for door cars.
Every trailer is lined up even. The show starts on time and moves quickly, the quality of the cars are 2nd to none, the rules are streamlined, the management is very professional, the stands are packed with fans. It is the closest a door car will be to an event like the pro's in NHRA without spending 3 million a year.

Paulk is running mobley/ulsch 762 out of 02 camaro.Hoyle is running the samePaulk and hoyle have 860" fulton engines with 4 kits?
I am sure mobley's cars will run well at the shakedown.

I thought Jeff Paulk was running the motor that Steve Kirk had in his Camaro at one time. Speaking of Kirk, I think him running a 4.19 in ADRL with an automatic is saying something for the nitrous guys still being able to compete. Barry Ballard runs 4.0s with a glide and bbc on nitrous. Hes on big tires, but his engine is much smaller than 860 ci. He qualified at norwalk for adrl pro nitrous with a 4.09.I thought Jeff Paulk was running the motor that Steve Kirk had in his Camaro at one time. I wasn't saying that there wasn't quicker automatic cars out there on big tires. The APM Mustang that my buddy has is just as quick too but not on 10.5's right now and its a sbf twin turbo. I know Kirk's new car is basically a Pro Mod and I have no idea what the weight is but with an 860 it has to be heavier than some of the others in the class. I'm pretty sure that the engine and transmission is the same that he had in the Camaro when he was running it in ORSCA. Maybe he found the same thing that Mobley did. Thanks for clearing that up for me. I thought that Jeff had one of Kirk's 762 motors since his truck spends a lot of time at Steve's shop in Monroe GA.
