The tire would have been the solution. 15x15 max rim and 101 rollout. We have tested both ways out of 22 passes with the 16's right down broadway 18 in check and the 15's 7 out of 18 passes. This was with a turbo combination. 2900lbs is nothing and adding weight the turbo cars will go faster LOL oh well.

Sean
Yea, just like radial tires limit those cars.

i was refering to 10.5 racing in general:butthead:
when your shakedowns over i want u to tell me the mph of the three fastest turbo or procharged 10.5 cars and then the three fastest nitrous/naturally aspirated 10.5 cars

im also willing to bet the fastest turbo/procharged 10.5 car is faster then the fastest nitrous pro mod (speed wise not e.t)..that should tell you something:p
Your point doesnt matter. Speed doesnt win races.

You can only move a 3000lbs car on a 10.5" tire so quickly.

u think theres just this imaginary line that says a 3000lb 10.5 car can not go faster then this???
theoretically..... the faster the mph the faster potential e.t
thats where weight comes in as an equalizer
its not rocket science

and are u telling me you do not think nitrous cars are at a disadvantage?
you dont see many nitrous guys de-tuning there cars and still going 6.80's do u? let alone going 6.80's:p
With todays technology, yes, a 3000lbs car is only going to be able to put the power down so quickly.

Do i think nitrous cars are at a disadvantage? That is not the point. The point is that this is outlaw racing. Ill say it how they always said it, "3000lbs AND RWYB!" If your shit cant keep up, step up or step out.

Its funny, when the turbo cars werent running well, i didnt see any of them asking for breaks or help.

P.S.

Id hope that an 860" nitrous engine with 4 kits wouldnt be at a disadvantage.

I guess that's twin 88's? That's still about 2,800 hp. They should go an extra step and specify gasoline only so the turbo cars have to run gasoline.

Another even easier step would be to put a restrictor flange in between the exhaust header and the inlet of the turbine housing. Let them run whatever turbo size they want. Restricting the inlet causes quicker spooling, but restricts top end horsepower. It could be added at the track.
Q16 is worth roughly 100 more hp than alcohol.

You think people are going to show up at tracks and add some restrictor to their headers? How is that going to work? Last i checked, headers were built to fit. Not much room to be adding pieces.

Yeah, but an intercooler is a restriction, Jeremy. That's the point. You have to run an intercooler in order to lower the inlet air temp because gasoline doesn't run as cool as alky does. Running alky also allows you to run more compression because the detonation point is lower.

A flange could be just a quarter inch thick

The whole idea is the same as what NASCAR does to limit the amount of air going into an engine.

Certainly a lot cheaper than going to a new set of turbos to meet the rule.
Intercoolers today arent restricting anything. They are still getting as much, if not more than enough air into the engine.

Many guys run the same compression as gasoline engines while running alcohol.

Even a 1/4" thick, most guys headers and exhaust are not built to allow that kind of clearance.

Here's an easy solution and not restrict the "OUTLAW"
SB Nitrous 2200
SB Turbo 2800
BB NA 2400
BB Nitrous (under 5") 2700
BB Nitrous (5" and up) 2800
BB Single Turbo 3000
BB Twin Turbo 3100
Big block single turbo and small block single turbo have run virtually identical ETs. Big block with an auto and small block with a 5 speed.

And, there is no way you are going to get a backhalf car to 2200lbs for nitrous small block. 2300, BG probably can, but not 2200.
