If your looking to run 4.50-4.60 I'd rather see it turn 8500-8800. It will spool but it won't be easy. It also depends on the power goals. Unless your trying to make more power than a 106mm can provide, you'll be happier with the 106.

114 seems to be MUCH harder to spool then 106s even over 460+ inch motors ... 106 would be a much better choice

no problem with the rpm been there many times. more about the combo would be 4.125x 3.9 stroke. motor will be methanol 12 to 1 compression with dudley`s mfi fuel injection and a pair of 16 225 lbs. injectors. don`t care about blowing out the exhaust ports or lifting the heads cause when this happens i`ll be done with the heads moving to a yates head next. i have the turbo now and a 106 so i was trying to get a vibe about what the yb guys think/ know. it would be a plug and tune type deal except for the down pipe. thanks for the replies and would (16) 225`s be enough to cover the potential hp. not saying it`s gonna play right just looking to cover it from a calculated stand point. i`m actually looking forward to cracking the exhaust port. i don`t give a ----

The alky and compression will help so the 118mm will spool but it's not going to be quick. If the 106mm will meet your power goals you'll be happier with it.

A 118 will DESTROY those heads, and be far more difficult to spool. A 118 is for people intending to make over 2500 hp imo.
