I always thought single stack 1911 needed a fatter grip. Hoosierdaddy pick up a Para P14 or an STI high cap 1911 then you with think the 1911 single stackers are perfect. There are many companies that make grips for 1911 single stacks. The Colt factory wood grips are also very thin.

I have small hands plus I want it as thin as possible for IWB carry. Trying to find something 1/8th thick at the thickest point.

Smith and Alexander has several for under $50 but they don't come with screws and bushings. They are $50 with screws and bushings together though. I really can't decide if I want to put wood on it or keep it all black and silver. The black rosewood ones they have are pretty but $50 for grips with screws and bushings is a little more than I wanted to spend. I'd be happy with some black plastic ones, like the ones that came on it, if they are thin and $20-$30.

watch ebay and some of the bigger forums, maybe someone will have some they are getting rid of. Black and Silver Micarta grips will work well for you. Looks like Brownell's Navidrex. http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/sid=...187_a_7c745_a_7c647000008_d_647000003_d_10573 if that link didn't work then check http://www.brownells.com/ and search for Navidrex. Looks like they run between $20 and $40. Slim screws and bushings are not included. Steer clear of the Slimtech grips, they are nice, but require a funky fat headed screw which may not even be available anymore.

good luck!

Did a man seriously just type this?
Can a man not think anything but a woman is pretty? Maybe you'll feel better if I say they look good.

Ok I've decided to keep it black and silver. After looking for over an hour I can't find any plastic, checkered grips, like the factory ones, that are thin and aren't $50 a pair. I'm looking for a pair in the neighborhood of like $20. I did find some that are what I'm looking for but I'll be damned if I'm going to pay $56 plus shipping for two pieces of plastic that are just like factory grips but thinner and that don't even come with the screws and bushings.

You could try thinning a set of plastic factory grips or make your own. trace the outline of your original grips on a piece of paper and then find some plastic a little thicker than you want and start cutting.

just found these on ebay, looks like $15 would take em. they aren't black and they aren't plastic, but they can be painted. add a set of thin bushings and screws and you are in at about $25, not counting shipping. http://cgi.ebay.com/1911-punisher-g...924?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4156803c8c search ebay occasionally and just search for thin 1911 grips. http://shop.ebay.com/items/thin%201911%20grips?_dmd=1&_sop=12&rvr_id=206994883667&keyword=thin+1911+grips&geo_id=1&crlp=4421680523_1&MT_ID=474&tt_encode=raw

Nope they don't have any either. This shit is rediculous. If I was looking for something nice all that would be available would be some cheap plastic chinese junk. This time that's what I want and nobody's got any. Imagine that.
