A friend of mine was asked to look at a car and see if you can find the cause of a broken rocker arm. Upon disassembly he notices the square end of the pushrod was installed on the rocker arm side and the hardened rod end was on the lifter side..

He tried to tell the installer the pushrod was installed upside down but he immediately got upset and said well it's a "Proline" engine and they told me to install it that way because it's a street car. If it was a race car it would be installed the other way.. He tried to tell him that proline would never say something like that and maybe you misunderstood them but he wasn't hearing it...

Can you guys clarify this for him so maybe the others involved don't actually believe this idiot.. :)

There should be a "undercut" end and a straight radiused end, undercut goes up....

Yes, but what if this was a street/strip car? Would you install that sumbitch sideways???

Really? A legitimate question about a pushrod is the reason? I thought it was the numerous porn threads, stupid threads about ice cream and radios and such. Huh... learn something new everyday I guess.
