One of my 990 rectangle ports cracked. I was thinking of trying a set of 781 or 049 oval ports. Most people seemed to think they would be a major restriction without alot of porting($$$). Here are two options I'm looking at.

#1 Brodix Race Rite -2plus(312cc) heads bare and use all the parts from the 990 heads.
#2 I found a set of Brodix -2X(340cc) heads NIB made around 1998.

Compression would be upped to 13.3:1 and race weight would drop to 3200 lbs. by using the aluminum heads. I don't mind spinning the motor to 7500 if it's required. The car is drag only, running 1/8 mile. Here are the details with the 990 heads. Let's hear your thoughts.

The engine is in a 84 Regal that weighs 3300 lbs w/ driver. It has stock style bolt on suspension and 29.5" x 10.5" slicks. Trans is a PG w/ 9" spragless converter. I leave off the transbrake @ 4500 and shift @ 7200. Converter flashes 5600 at launch and falls to 6000 on the gear change. Rear is a 9" w/ 4.86 gear. It goes thru the traps @ 6600.

The best pass to date has been:
60'......1.359(4.33) & 1.328(4.86)
330'....4.029
1/8.....6.302/107.56
This pass was made in cool fall air @ night w/ 4.33 gears.
