is my car too heavy for a powerglide? should I be looking at a turbo 400 swap? Trying to lower my 60'.

There is more to the track than the 60ft beam.

I'm sure you can improve it with ratio but I have seen many do it only to create inconsistency and lose it all by the 330.

How do you determine which trans is the better trans for your car? Also how do you decide which 1st gear.

If your race car is as heavy as your pick up truck a turbo 400 might help. For bracket racing at under 3500# a Powerglide works for consistency and round wins. 1.80 gear is pretty forgiving. One less gear to deal with is also convenient too. Save you money. Matching converter might be a place to improve.
