Im trying to figure out the secret to a good foot brake. Is it all in the converter? I know suspension plays some role but how do you make a converter loose enough to leave good but still pull on the big end?
When i had my converter made i told them i would be foot braking. The best foot brake 60 ft time has been a 1.47 I have since installed a trans brake and 60 ft 1.40 but now im breaking stuff like never before. Whats the secret without the trans brake shock?

I know of a car with 1.14ish 60's of the pedal.

Check out all them hot rod turbo cars, two sets of rear calipers.

Nitrous ;) I've only done a best of 1.42 on 4 year old slicks and pretty much stock suspension. The shocks and struts could be factory 30 year old stuff for all I know. 4,000 stall, 4.56 gears and 28x9 Hoosiers with a 350 SBC. Off the bottle it only does 1.61 - 1.63.

New tires,good shocks springs.. Front shocks also as this will help the travel

A good combo with HP. My car is junk, and leaving off of foot brake with a c4, it will still low 1.2xx @ 3300 lbs and a progressive

Very simple. Horsepower and traction.

What's my cars problem, then? 1.89 60', no spin, 12.50 @ 115mph? 3700#. Power (mph) to go 11's on paper, but 60' & et suck.

Not being a smart ass, just trying to learn.

Im leaning twards converter...

what gear and what size tire ..plus moving 3700 pounds with what kind of motor and trans

You aren't hitting the tires hard enough and your gearing is probably way off! James
