I want to use a diode in my Line-Loc circuit so I can activate my Line Loc when the Trans Brake circuit is being energized by the Trans Brake button (not in use when circuit is activated by Line Loc button) What is the proper style/type of diode, and what amperage rating do I need?

Thanks Dave

Use a unidirectional diode. DO NOT use a zener or transorb. You want to make sure it blocks in one direction no matter what. Zener lets the current and voltage through once it reaches a certain level. Make sure the diode you get is rated for the current draw of your circuit. The diode will see the load if your wiring it inline.

I picked up some Rectifier Diodes from Radio Shack.....one is rated 3amps/400PIV, the other is 6amps/50PIV. Are either of these correct for what I'm trying to do?

Thanks Dave
