Trying to decide if I should try a -7 plug in a n/a BBC vs the -8 I have ran so far. What signs do I look for to decide what it is telling me.

About 1100 Hp, 14-1, 615ci. on Q-16

This is not a direct answer but has good info which will help you understand spark plugs and what to look for which should help with your question.

Hey uncle paul, that was a good read, I am struggling with this n/a motor to feel like they are right or not. I have spent more time recently looking a n2o plugs that get cleaned off every pass, so these always look dirty just a little bit. Do you think the signs decribed in the article need to be judged on a shut off pass just as looking for rich / lean and timing do. I am running all 1/8 mile.

With that kind of NA power I would be running -8s or -9s.
I had not even considered the -9's as I guess i am wanting to see that nice clean nitrous plug look, hummm
