*If you follow it.....the demand is going up from China's economy growing.....plus something I didn't understand. The price is going up because our Refineries are producing at a 24/7 rate (No New Refineries since the 70's thanks to the tree huggers....ie Mr Ray  ).....that means overtime pay on union wages thus running up the prices.......If we just announced that we were drilling Alaska....the price would drop overnight......Reagon did it
You guys didn't think all these oil companies were merging for the fun of it, did ya? Production has been topped out and falling slightly for the last 2-3 years depending on the company. Why do ya think BP has changed their name to Beyond Petroleum? Have you looked at their site lately? Did you realize that they are the world's largest producer of solar panels and the Saudis are their largest customer? Hmmmm. Have you seen Chevron's new site?? http://willyoujoinus.com/
Exactly what do you think the government is going to do about oil becoming a more scarce product? They did what they could last week when Bush signed the energy bill. Of course, it's just a bunch of subsidies to bribe the oil companies into spending more money to develop alternatives and tap into different sources of oil that are currently too expensive to make it worthwhile for them not to mention the incentives to build more nuclear plants. The government can't do a damn thing about demand exceeding the supply. Bush can just go kiss the Saudi's ass and they will promise to try to pump more... Got news for ya guys. It ain't there. Look around. Trucks and SUV's everywhere. Anyone remember what the roads looked like the 80's after the energy crisis in the 70's? Nothing like today. The rich 90's ruined this country. We're officially screwed. Get used to it.
You're not listening? How is the government putting the auto industry out of business? This isn't gonna just hurt the auto industry. It's gonna finish off the airlines and a lot of other stuff. Like I said, get used to it. We don't have the infrastructure for oil scracity like most of the rest of the world.
Although I'm sure Biggs is gonna have a freaking fit, we might need to reexamine Carter's suggestions from the 70's and seriously reconsider the energy agenda in this country. Carter had it right.
Agreed and a lot of progress was made in that direction during the late 70's and 80's. If you go to the library and check out the alternative energy books, they were all written in that time period. Cars were shrinking and gas mileage was going up. Then we had the great 90's where the money was easy and everything took a 180 degree turn. I ate out the other day and was surrounded by nine trucks. All but three were full-size trucks. You didn't see that shit in the 80's. Like I said, we're screwed. At least you'll be able to buy a truck real cheap here in about a year... I'll be buying me a motorcyle myself...
