I am unhappy with this yates headed 427 and looking at hanging a 88mm turbo on this motor to go mean street racing.

Precision large frame with a G trim and a 1.32 housing.

S500sx with a 1.30, possibly a 1.45 housing.

Promod 88

GTX5518

Bigger the turbine wheel the better. The large frame would be the best.

I would agree with liljohn on this also. If you need a price on the Garrett gtx5518 let me know I'm a dealer for Garrett.

Depends on the rules.....but Large Frame unless significant weight break.

S500 will be the cheapest of the three i listed previously... GTX the most expensive.

I'm sure I will regret it
i don't think 8 mm is going to slow you down much.especially with some 80s I've read about on here.

150 lbs less from a gt55/bw s500 to a midframe turbo of some sort.. what about those bw 88 with the tm1 turbine wheel?

here are the rules:

Single 76mm T6 Turbocharger (mid frame) (small block) 2900 lbs.
Single 80mm T6 Turbocharger (mid frame) (small block) 3000 lbs.
Single 85mm T6 Turbocharger (mid frame) (small block) 3050 lbs.
Single 88mm T6 Turbocharger (Y2K or GT47-88) (mid frame) (small block) 3100 lbs
Single 85mm T6 Turbocharger (Pro Mod 85) (mid frame) (small block) 3150 lbs.
Single 88mm T6 Turbocharger (GT55-88, Pro Mod 88, etc or =) (small block) 3250 lbs. Single 88mm T6 Turbocharger (*Large Frame 85) (small block) 3250 lbs
Single 88mm T6 Turbocharger (*Large Frame 88) (small block) 3350 lbs
* Large Frame Turbo with billet wheel: add 50 lbs.

Well I have decided after getting 20 lowball offers to keep my turbo
I bought the newest compressor cover for it
I'm shooting for 4.90s
Bruce the race is on
Who will be the first very into the 4.90s with a bw s500 88

We went 4.98 with the bw two years ago and I have a 85 bw for sale that we went 5.0s with and could have run 4's

MDRA Midwest drag radial association.

Looks like I am going BW s500... Reed made me heck of a deal on a Fresh unit setup for my car... Won't even have to lean on it hard to go 5.0's

Boo00st.... Reed has done gone 4.9x with a s500 on a 427 very similar to what I have.... so there will be several cars in the 4's with these!

Snoop check out the Garrett gt-5088 its a mid frame turbo with a wheel between the size of a gt47 and gt55.. I'm running one on my 427 going to try to run 275 with it you can be 3150?
