A couple years ago, I financed a new 4 wheeler and had a 930. Thanksgiving, I bought a new pickup and was 830, so, who knows. Mofos do what they want.

The reality is that anything above a 750 is going to get you tier 1 rates anywhere.

That's what I was noticing when looking at mortgage rates. Once it was about a 740-750, it didnt matter if it was higher, and instead came down to income.

Damn, I guess I'm poverty to most here at a 715 lmao. A lot of stuff got messed up when I had a back injury a few years ago. Finally getting back into fixing my credit, which has went up roughly 75 points since late last year. Should be up another 25 points in month or two once one more thing comes off my report. Hopefully one day I'll be over an 800, but trying to also buy another house in the next few months which I'm sure will knock it down.
You can buy anything you want at 740. After that, it's just bragging.

I don't remember what my credit score is but I know I can go to any bank and take out a loan for way more than I would feel comfortable making payments on. I don't feel comfortable making any payments.

Does a Payday loan score count for anything? Credit must be stellar since they just bumped it up to $735.00 available to loan..

I haven't checked in several years (don't really care), but I was in the 8's. Then, I closed a floorplan I had (dealer LOC) with a $1,000,000.00 availability and my fuckin' rating went DOWN.

I'll never understand how they come up with their hair-brained numbers.

You have no credit.... It's low
You have some credit.... It's in the 7's
You have great credit with endless avalibility..... It's in the 8's
You eliminate credit you don't need or use..... It goes down
WTF

I never give it much thought. Hell they got 9 different Auto scores, 4 home loan scores, 6 Credit card scores.. You could be 750 on one and 820 on another.. Depending on what you have on your credit that day. It's not like the old days where It took 3-4 months to update... Hell it gets updated weekly anymore. I bet mine looks like a roller coaster with the shit I do.

Mine is around 850. I find it funny that it has never benefited me in anyway. Never been turned down for a loan but they have never said, oh my, because you pay your bills we are gonna give you something special or better......just sayin.

Lately I've been kind of stupid about replying before I read the whole thread.
So I read the whole thread and now I can't find the post I wanted to reply to... :)

Anyway, freezing your credit bureau accounts doesn't stop entities from finding your score.
That's a "soft" inquiry and it's allowed even if your account is frozen
My accounts have been frozen for years and Discover tells me my score monthly.

Yep, it's pretty fucked up that if you don't take out loans your score will never be stellar.

My take is owning a home outright is better than having a mortgage but that's not the way it works...
