yesterday i just bought a new 500 series mallory fuel canister and 40 micron element that will free flow up to 500 gph. while looking through some of my stuff later i found a new fram housing and element(rated at 90 gph). my question is would the fram be big enough to use with that pump? i was thinking no b/c of the lower gph rating. the inlets and outlets on the fram would be big enough(3/8 npt) i'll be using 1/2 line. if i can efficiently use the fram ill return the expensive mallory one and spend the money elsewhere on the car.

Should have said "Fram" canister filters are junk. I've never seen any of the Fram or cheapo paper element filters not result in a considerable pressure drop at upper RPMs. Never had that problem with a clean inline filter.
