chassis is not too important , just looking for a better price on materials. I build a few sets a year for friends.

I used them once and the tubing was aluma coated I think , and I didnt like the way they welded.

I used the Summit/Jegs brand sprint style header kit. $79 (think it went up ten bucks lately), nice bends, most economical way to build headers if your not looking for fancy. I needed two sets to build a pair for my LS/nova and theres quite a few pieces left. Basic idea with this type if kit is to use what you can the way it is and cut/twist back together the rest of the way to make them work. I recommend the hooker header sleeves for the connections since some of the joints are hard to get to when tacking them in place in the car. The aluminized coating is no big deal, migs fine and tigs really well. I think the total with two kits, flanges and sleeves is about 230 bucks into my last pair. Like I said, nothing fancy but I needed custom without spending a mint and for that they worked well.

The hedman kits I've used in the past were nice. Thick flanges and 3/8 head bolts included. never used the stahl kit
