He didnt like the fact the fuel cars were running 1/8th mile. So, they DQed him from pro stock. :)
Went an 11.12 first round. He knows its no good so why stop?

unless there were 16 cars alreadt quicker than him at the time, technically it is still "good enough."

i hope they only DQ'd him for the round though and not the event for that.

Do you really think a 11 sec pass is going to make the 16 field  when there is 10-12 other cars that are on the buble.?

I am sure WJ is quite aware of the rules, if he did it he knows the circumstances.
Yup. Must've just been for the round.

After 2 rounds he now shows 17th with a 7.127.
looks like allen johnson is going to be tuff to beat .He and Greg has been here since last weeK testing . Greg put 18 passes on his car in 2 days. So he's got this
place figured out .Allen was the fastest here last week with a 7.03.Nice track first time iv'e been here.Fuel cars and funny cars are running like a prostock field. very tight.the hitters are grinding their shit up at 800 feet on in both classes. they have this 1000 feet thing figured out. THE ONLY ONE GAINING IN THIS DEAL IS THE FANS ,WE GET TO SEE THE FUEL CARS BLOW UP CLOSER TO THE STARTING LINE.
THE OTHER THING IS THEY HAVE TO GO OUT AND PULL THE FUEL CARS OFF THE TRACK HERE. THEY ARN'T MAKING IT TO THE RETURN ROAD.

Huh. I thought everyone was saying 1000' vs. 1320' wouldn't make a difference anyway.

LMAO. What numb nuts'.

That's pretty funny that with 30 mph less speed and 320' more length, that they actually can't get to the end.
the end of the track goes up hill
Could they get to the end last year?
.

It's worth wasting a few minutes now, if one of the guys need the room in an emergency later.

Don't get me wrong. I agree 100%.

I'm moking all the people from earlier threads who clearly flunked high school physics and couldn't figure out how big a difference 300mph at 1000' was compared to 330mph at 1320'.

I think it's absolutely awesome that they're stopping with so much to spare.

I think what they were saying was that it wouldn't make a difference in a no chutes, no brakes instance. You'd be slower, but likely not slow enough.

But yeah, in a normal both chutes out and on the brakes instance, it's a huge difference between 300 and 330 mph with another 320' also.
Also It's like 9,000 feet of air there...When you pull the chutes
there is not a lot of air on the chutes to stop there
greg has the gears right for this track should run in the 6's tomorrow.Mike Edwards has a good handle on this track also
with the fuel cars spinning the tires and "black tracking" all the way down, i wonder how the pro stockers are feeling in the big end with much less rubber from 1,000-1,320 ft now, or are they adjusting the wicker bill more? with greg setting the track record , i think some have it figured out already.
.

I saw a video where WJ was bitching the fuel cars screw up the track. He was saying "they slick it up". His exact words.
I assumed it from clutch dust?? He did say why. He was very upset they ran after the fuel cars for some reason??

.
Fuel residue and clutch dust does slick the track up some...sorta like running after a jet car...maybe that will be a better comparison if you have done it
