Hey guys. I was planning on calling my valve manufacture on Monday, but I thought I would ask the opinion on here as well. I currently run 8mm valves in our AFR SBC heads. I’m making over 60psi boost which as you could imagine would require a fair amount of spring pressure with that kind of pressure behind the heads of the valves. What kind of spring pressure would be safe to run on an 8mm stem? Where is the danger zone? Am I over thinking this? Thanks

Valves are: INT Manley NK 844 severe duty
Exhaust is inconel

You are using good quality valves, I don't think you will need to worry about spring pressures with these.

I've got customers running pretty heavy springs like pac 1249's with 5/16 valves that are pretty long (6.800). You've got a good quality set of valves I think you'll be alright.
