I know you guys are getting sick of me posting shite about my new truck but it's winter and there is nothing else to talk about.

What's up with our new 2000 Ford Excursion....7.5mpg on the highway? 6.8 v10 w/139,000. Gets 7.5 in the city and 7.5 on the highway.

Thought we would at least get 10.

Electronic readout says I get 393 miles to a 35gal tank=11.22/mpg

Either my brain is busted for buying it, or my electronic gauge is busted. Or both.

They have a fix for that problem ,its called a ROAD FLARE placed directly under the front seatarty

I had a v10 F-250. MPG was about the same, alittle better on the highway. 125k wrist pins started slapping, sent it down the road for a psd! Best thing I ever did.

I had one with 38" tires 7-8 mpg all I could get out of it best thing I ever did was get rid of that thing

Don't know exactly what mine is,but its not great. Who gives a fuck,its a big truck with a big motor,which means its gonna get thirsty. Buy a prius if your worried about gas mileage

my 2001 silverado 2500hd with 8.1 gets about 11 highway and about 6 towing....go big or go home...

big truck, big engine AND winter time with warm up/idling all factor in to the poor mileage per tank. Mines a thirsty bitch too, esspecially with the plow on the snout and spreader in the bed, but I did'nt get the truck to get mileage, I got it to work. I just picked up a 99 saturn to drive around in, man what a difference LOL 8-10mpg is about all I get with my '00 F350 empty. 5-8mpg towing big loads, and 2-4mpg plowing.

Not very good at all on MPG, I had a fleet of walk ins with 6.8 they got about 8 mpg, and that is if it was driven like a old lady.

My 02 F250 V10 would get 8mpg in the city and 11mpg on the hwy.... Didnt matter if I was pulling a load or not.. Same mpg. It had 4.30 gears.

Best truck I ever owned!!

My buddies '00 V-10 Excursion with 35'' tires and me driving avg.'s 8 city,12 hwy.Towing a 21 ft. Bass boat it gets 10-12 hwy.

If he drives,it gets 6-8 everywhere.

I'm going to change the plugs, air filter and maybe a Hypertech tuner. Just want to get to 10-11 if possible.

you guys must be driving with a lead foot. My friends 2005 Excursion V10 gets 12 measured city/highway combo in the summer and 10-11 in the winter.

My 2010 V10 SD has been averaging 12.5 measured 70% highway/30% city in the summer and around 11 in the winter.

My 2001 V10 30 Ft. RV gets 6.5 on towing a loaded enclosed trailer.

Ive had as good as 9.0 with it no towing @ 60 mph average. It weighs 15.5k fully loaded no trailer.

99 F250 extended V10, 14 mpg unloaded and I have a lead foot. towing open trailer it dropped to around 11.5. towing around 7500, it ran around 9 mpg @65

i got a 5.4 and im getten 10.5 mpg according to the computer (yea i no not a v10 but its got the same mpg)
