Rare Can Am stuff from 1966 era. I think the block was a 289 cast to about a 9.5" deck (like a 351W would be a few years later) but the dropped chamber made it more like a 9.2" deck. Any idea how one would figure the compression ratio?
Like a motorcycle, bolt it all together and cc it through the spark plug hole. Or else make up a fixture from a block of plexiglass to bolt to the head to bridge the protrusions and subtract the volume of the fixture.

Ya know, I really can appreciate the engine porn here. But the new stuff does nothing for me. Give me a good 'ol Hemi, SOHC or BBC anyday

That must be it. From what I see, ALL the new stuff make great power but when they break there's nothing left to repair. They just throw everything away & start over.
