do you leave your cars in gear or in neutral?? I always leave mine in neutral because i was told it would ruin a set of planetary gears. is this true or a old tell??
I leave it in neutral, chock blocks at the front and rear. I also since it down with blocks between the carframe and the floor of the trailer so the suspension does not work. A local guy went to vegas without doing that (15 hr pull) and his suspension broke and he went into the wall. It was determined that the suspension broke due to stress while trailering.
Don't forget, there are a zillion of us that must leave it in neutral. Winch in type cars. Low low profile, so I doubt it hurts anything.
I would prefer park for safety, but too old & fat to crawl in there.

I'd be carefull cinching a car to the floor of the trailer. The car becomes the top chord of a truss, and stresses the shit out of it when the trailer flexes.
