Its kind of hard to believe that two radically different styles of motors would coexist that well if the turbos came in and had an advantage the NA guys would be screaming and if you penalize one side or the other the constant bitching about the rules would ruin the class which seemed to be a nice alternative to the strict NHRA rules package

I dont understand why they would let 6 cylinder turbo cars in pro stock but no turbos in pro mod?
I couldnt agree more... Hence the word "stock" in pro stock. Class has been N/A for how many years?? Pro Mod is the "power adder" class make them run that. Atleast there if there is an advantage, it can be equalled out. My true and honest opinon is to just let the turbo guys have a class of their own in IHRA, if they feel the need to have turbo cars

I was at the track back in 1983 (I think) when Buddy Ingersoll was running his turbo regal in PS. He wasn't quite running the E.T.'s of the big block cars but had at least 5 more MPH on the big end.

When I saw the car it had a large single turbo and timed mechanical injection.

Well, unfortunately only us hardcore guys like ProStock.... Something needs to change, to make the class more main stream with it's name... there's nothing even remotely stock about Pro Stock. There should be LS1's in the chebbies, and Modular junk in the Fords. Hemis in the Chryslers(oh that's right there is)... anyhoot... that's what I think.

I think if it has the word stock in it the car should have to come off the showroom floor and be built from there. I also think they should allow fuel injection. When was the last time a car came from detroit with a carb on it. I think they should allow traction control also, thats a factory option on alot of stock cars.

well nhra allowed turbos last year in pro mod and just as the turbo guys/gals are starting to get there cars figured out, they are changing the rules again to not allow them in 06. Bunch of Crap! :smt013
NHRA had nothing to do with the rules last year. Those rules were made up by a moron and had nothing to do with real Pro Modified racing. Never been turbos before in the class, never will be again.

If there is a Pro Mod series in NHRA next year they will use IHRA rules.

No V-8's, no rear wheel drive, no slick tires, no excitement.

Leave the turbos where they belong...trucks, buses, Pro RWD, Pro FWD, Outlaw 10.5, Outlaw Pro Mod, Pro Street, Outlaw Street, drifting, etc.

BUT KEEP THEM OUT OF PRO STOCK AND PRO MODIFIED!!!!!!!!!

Thank you.
