Hi,
Has anyone drilled a Precision turbo housing to install a Garret Turbo speed sensor. I’ve tried contacting Precision via Messenger, email & left voice mails as no one answered ... I ave searched the net for info, but mainly comes up with Garret, which have a specific location & pre drilled, just not fully drilled. So not a lot if help.

Questions I have;

I know where the sensor should exit from the inner housing to the fan,but I don’t know what angle I need to drill at

Is the housing thick enough to accept a 8mm fine thread ?

If I need to add a boss, is it OK to weld it, I was concerned with distortion ?

Any one have any tech info, done similar before ?

Thanks

Just send them to Precision and have it done. I just had mine done. Only took a couple week including shipping both ways.

Just use the Garrett instructions for the correct mounting.

The Garrett and precision sensors are the same.

I can give you the PTE pn for them. The ones used in the XPR units

Hi,

Thanks.

I have some Garrett instructions, but is not clear to me where I should drill the hole, what angle to drill the hole at.

The Garret instructions I have show the sensor being fitted to a Pre existing sensor boss, which only needs to be drilled out to break through.

I have the sensors..

You have the threaded sensors?

You have these instructions?

[/URL]

It shows in there the desired configuration

Any decent machining should be able to.

It isn't that critical where on the blade it is, it just needs to sit perpendicular to the blade at the point it is referencing and have the correct spacing
