Uping the H.P. in my car from 675 to 950. The 400 trans worked fine with the small motor. Will it have to be modified to handle the aditional power? It's in a 3600# door car. Old rear gears were 4.86. Now gears are 4.10 Using a trans brake. Any input would be helpfull.
Thanks, Ray

If your planning on the 950 HP mark, I would say you may want to upgrade to a steel clutch hub over the OEM cast one, and a 300M Input shaft and drum, and make sure 2nd gear sprag is upgraded to a 34 element. Burt

I have a 8" converter with a 5200 stall on my 675 HP small block. Can it be reworked to accommodate the 950 HP big block? Thanks

Your torque vs weight ratio will probably be too much for the 8".
