Just heard a rumor at work from a fellow co-worker that the track has been shut down do to unpaid taxes. Any truth to this? And im 100% assuming this is a total rumor and untrue.
Tulsa Raceway park closed????

He sold it because he claims he was loosing to much money. Rock quarry bought it and is suppose to dig it up soon as they take possesion. If you get on the Tulsa website he tells why he sold it in the forum.

Not supposed there is a letter of intent to purchase from APAC, contracts to be signed in 2 weeks last day of operation for TRP October 24th
As for the State offering to build new track, that was my deal and it was from 9 years ago..
Yes I had $17,000,000.00 state funds to build a motorsports facility on 660 acres in the center of Oklahoma, I had a Track sponsor and a sponsor for an NHRA National event and this was easy access from I-40 and I-44(less than 2 miles)
All I needed was a guarantee from NHRA that we could get a National event... 2 years worth of work, could not get it done. NHRA was not interested in bringing a National event to Oklahoma..

I am working on that right now...
#1 Todd Martin is trying to secure at least a short term lease on the TRP property, there is a 25% chance this will happen..
#2 I still have access to the property that we were supposed to build on 9 years ago and the community is still open to any kind of facility that can be built there.
#3 I am talking with several people who have the means to be able to put some funds into building something, all of us working towards one goal will be much better than 5-6 people working on things separately
#4 From an expense standpoint, right now it would have to be 1/8th mile to be able to afford to build it and have it not lose money, being able to expand to 1/4 at later date would be key IMO though.

Yes Todd owns part of TRP and yes he will more than likely try to do something somewhere else if cant secure a lease, I have spoken with him regarding this.
Edwards had made an offer with a group of other Pro Stock racers, but is no longer interested

I sure wish people would stop saying.."its closing".
Its being torn down...as in destroyed !! Closing sounds like a possibility of re-opening....Which it does not !!
If the deal goes through it will become a 300ft hole in the earth !!
I HOPE I WILL BE WRONG WITH ALL OF THIS
This truley is a terrible thing..50+ years of history and tradition down the drain. The track is the BEST track around. It would take 5+ hour drive to find a better or equal track, sure there are tracks 2+ hours down the road but Tulsa was the shit.
I'm trying to hold back my negativity towards the owner and the whole situation but it very hard. The details have been withheld (to a point) which only insights the rumors and anger.
Mr. Holloway...on another note, myself and a few others have been racking our brains to what the future could possibly hold. And we wondered if the downtown air park would be worth looking into (think its abandoned). Its at 36th street north and just east of Osage drive. It has easy access off of the Tisdale expressway and the Osage Casino is about 2 blocks down the road. Which would provide great accommodations for the out of town racers. And I wonder if the Osage tribe would be interested in funding something like this ??

Quarry CANT NOT BLAST WITH IN ONE MILE OF A STATE HIGHWAY , it will be for storage for more equipment and a new concrete plant if anything other than sitting for a few years ............
