I did a search and only found one thread on this subject...

Hutch,I was wondering what typ fluid you use in your racing transmissions????

I was always a typ "F" guy but i have been hearing from some other racers that the dex III is a much better all around fluid???

have you done any research on this???

Well I hate to make suggestions , I had a great fluid but the refinery that made it went buns up, it was basically a 10W30 type F.
I have customers that run with success mobil1 ,torco and royal purple and I can honestly say I havent seen much as far as clutch wear decrease but gear wear is slightly better in high hp applications so far.
Others have run type f ,mopar atf4 and numerous dexron oils under several labels.
The only research I have done is to see if the transmission shows an improvement in wear items after a season of racing. The new oils being tried this season are the amsoil and lucas racing fluids. Im hoping I will see a reduction in some of the gear wear in the powerglides without being too slippery and causing clutch problems, but only time will tell.

Take care ,Hutch
